Insulation Piercing Connectors (IPCs) provide a fast, convenient and reliable method of connecting overhead low voltage mains to services or other mains. IPCs provide a fully sealed, waterproof connection.
All common types of conductors can be interconnected, including insulated aluminium or copper. There is no need to strip cables to make the connection, and shear head bolts ensure that the correct torque is reached every time.
There are three main ranges of IPCs, which cover the following:
- Connecting INSULATED MAINS to INSULATED MAINS or INSULATED SERVICES
- Connecting BARE MAINS to INSULATED MAINS or INSULATED SERVICES
- Connectors for covered conductor thick (CCT)
The connectors have been tested to AS4396 and are approved for use by Australian power distribution utilities including ACTEW, Essential Energy, Endeavour Energy, Ausgrid, Transgrid, Power & Water, Ergon Energy, Energex, PowerLink, SA Power Networks, ElectraNet, Aurora Energy, Powercor, Citipower, Jemena, SP AusNet, United Energy, Western Power and Horizon Power.
