Extension of the exemption for the temporary unavailability of 80amp SPD/MPD’s
Endeavour Energy has received the following advice from Paul Briggs, Senior technical Advisor, Department of Industries, Resources and Energy (DRE).
“Due to the lack of availability of 80amp fuse cartridges, dispensation was granted to use 100amp fuses as an interim measure, but only where Type 5 or 6 meters were installed. This dispensation expired on 16th December, 2016.
It is becoming obvious that 80amp SPD/DPS’s are still difficult to obtain at the present time. DRE is extending the exemption date until COB Friday 21 April 2017, which should allow adequate time for shipment and dispersal of the said goods.
However, upon learning that All Round Supplies has over 15,000 of the 80amp fuses currently in stock, the announcement and extension have since been withdrawn.
